Let’s be honest — Emily Cooper may have been confused when it came to French grammar, but the she knew how to dress for summer. Bold prints, statement bags, and no fear of a great hat. And while I’m not exactly navigating Parisian marketing clients or sipping espresso on the Seine (sadly), l love channeling a little “Emily in Paris” energy right here in the PNW. Learning French included!
To be more accurate: Sondra in Portland.
I moved here from Chicago a while ago— a place where the street style is pretty polished and there’s an obvious appreciation for layers (mostly because winter lasts forever). But Portland? Let’s just say… it’s not exactly a fashion capital. Strategic print mixing and runway inspired looks at the farmers market? Not really the local dress code. (Also — fun fact — I’ve never been camping ever. So maybe that’s my most un-Portland trait yet.)
That said, for me PNW summers are all about fun fashion moments and there’s nothing like taking warm weather style tips from your favorite onscreen fashionistas. As much as I love dressing for Paris, I’m dressing for the version of me who isn’t afraid to stand out — even if I’m the only one in polka dots on NW 23rd.
