What’s In My Beach/Pool Bag

Happy weekend, everyone! I’m sorry I’ve been M.I.A. on the blog for over a week . I caught a bug that was going around the office and was forced to take it easy for awhile. Lying in bed jealous of everyone enjoying the sunshine had me planning a weekend by the pool and a blog post!

Today on the blog, I’m sharing my poolside essentials:

1. Sunscreen: I enjoy soaking up the sun, but I’m a huge advocate of safe tanning. Not only does sunscreen help prevent sunburns, it also decreases the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging caused by the sun.

2. Water: staying hydrated is so important when you’re outside in the heat, so I make sure to have plenty of water on hand.

3. Reading material: last summer was a total smut fest, I’m not even gonna lie about it. If you’re looking for literature similar to Fifty Shades of Grey just let me know. I’ll probably stick to magazines and non-fiction this summer.

4. My iPhone and headphones: I can’t go anywhere without my phone, so of course it’s in my pool bag. If I’m not reading by the pool, I’m listening to music by the pool. I just find it extremely relaxing.

5. Sunglasses:  I have an old pair of aviators from Express that have become my designated pool sunnies. They’re cute, but I don’t mind if they get wet or scratched.

My Favorite Summer Midi Skirts

One of my favorite summer outfits was on repeat this week . There’s just something about a fun midi skirt that keeps me in a great mood all day. I purchased this skirt last summer from Chicwish and I’m so glad I did!

This summer Chicwish is still my go-to for fun prints and ladylike silhouettes. The skirt I’m wearing is unavailable, but there are plenty of other skirts I promise you’ll love! I’m currently loving all of their flamingo skirts (especially this one and this one),this watermelon skirt and this tropical printed midi, just to name a few.

My Biolage R.A.W. Review

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  You may have noticed, the blog was down for a few days. Thank you for your patience while the makeover was taking place, hopefully you all love the new look as much as I do! I’m still working on some minor details, but the complicated tasks are now behind me. I honestly had no idea how much work went in to moving a domain to a self-hosted site! If any of you ever need help, please let me know! I’m not tech support by any means, but I’ve definitely learned a lot throughout this upgrade.

For the past month or so, I’ve been using the Biolage R.A.W. shampoo and conditioner I received complimentary from Influencer for testing purposes.  There are three different haircare systems specifically designed to meet your hair needs: Nourish for dry, dull hair, Recover to restore shine and Uplift for flat, dull hair. Although these haircare systems contain different ingredients, they have 2 things in common: they’re good for your hair and for the environment! These natural origin haircare products are formulated without sulfates, silicones, parabens and artificial colorants. Based on the results of my Influencer survey, I was sent the  Recover haircare system. If you want to know which green haircare system is right for you, you can take a similar quiz here . In my opinion, a good shampoo and conditioner will allow you to go 2-3 days between washes (with help from dry shampoo of course) while maintaining that just washed look and feel. This hair care system passed that test!

Summer Scarves Under $20

Happy Friday, everyone! What a crazy week…I don’t even know where to begin…Do you guys ever have those weeks? Seriously, TGIF.

You all know I’m a huge fan of Charming Charlie and right now they have the cutest summer accessories. I purchased this tassel scarf a couple weeks ago and I love it! I truly believe a pop of color goes a long way and adds a lot to an otherwise boring outfit.

Sale Alert (Bath & Body Works Haul) 

If someone says “semi-annual sale” I’m listening. That’s exactly how I ended up at Bath & Body Works yesterday.  When I was younger I loved the classic fragrances like Cucumber Melon, Sweet Pea and Warm Vanilla Sugar. If you’re determined to stick with the classics that’s fine, but there are some amazing new fragrances you should really try! I’ve linked some of my favorite fragrances below and (for a limited time)  they’re all $3.75 and up! Whether you’re shopping for yourself or a friend, now is definitely the time stock up on these products!

Summer Style Guide (Part 3) 

Did everyone have a good weekend? Most of my weekend was spent preparing the blog for a revamp. Hopefully the changes will be complete within the next week or so. I’m excited to share the finished product with with you guys!  

Do you know what else I’m excited to share with you?!  Summer outfits that are perfect for any budget! This summer I’m loving tropical prints and vibrant colors. Seriously, give me all the prints 🙂  

Shein has become my go-to for summer tops. As long as you pay attention to the size guides and read any available reviews, you’ll be fine. All of the tops I’ve linked can be paired with shorts or jeans depending on your preference (and the temperature ).

Summer Style Guide (Part 2)

Happy Saturday, everyone! I hope you’re ready for more of my summer favorites, because today’s post is all about shoes. No matter the season,  I always gravitate towards flats and wedges. They’re comfortable and easy to walk in. It may come as a surprise, but I’m not the most graceful individual so high heels are usually out of the question. I just prefer a versatile shoe that transitions easily from a day at the office to errand running. My go-to shoes are always cute and comfy.

Summer Style Guide (Part 1)

Happy Friday, everyone! I’m delighted to say, the first official day of summer is June 20th.  It  was an extremely rainy winter and spring here, in Oregon, so I’m ready for some warm temps and sunshine! If you live in a region of the country where summer weather arrived months ago, you should know I’m super jealous ; )  

With the first day of summer just around the corner, I thought it would be appropriate to round up my summer must-haves in a series of posts. There are so many summer inspired handbags in stores and online right now that it’s ridiculous. I’m not complaining, I’m just overwhelmed by summer vibes! Loving all things Palm Print 

Ok… so I may or may not be guilty of going to Old Navy two days in a row, but how could I not when basically the entire store is on sale! I purchased a few of their tee dresses last summer, so I was excited to see them back in stock and available in new colors and prints. This palm print dress was $15 when I purchased it and now it’s on sale for $10! The available sizes in this print are extremely limited online so you might want to check your local store if your size is sold out. Since I’m obsessing over all things palm print, I’ve linked some more adorable items (also available at Old Navy) that are sure to satisfy your palm print craving. Off the Shoulder Ruffle Top

Happy Friday everyone, I’m so glad the long holiday weekend is finally here! Is it just me, or are there some amazing Memorial Day sales going on right now?! I’ll be sharing some of my recent sale purchases later…but this off the shoulder top is currently on sale (I’m wearing a size XS/SM and it fits perfectly)! I actually purchased this top last summer from Chicwish and it’s still one of my favorites. The fabric is incredibly light weight so it’s perfect for a hot summer day.
